Our Work

Water and Sanitation

Latest data from the World Health Organization (WHO) reveals that three in 10 people worldwide could not wash their hands with soap and water at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of the world’s most serious diseases stem from poor sanitation and hygiene. When there is no source of water, diseases like cholera and diarrhea spread very quickly. Children are often forced to search for water, exposing them, particularly girls, to an increased risk of harm and violence. We work with our global partners to provide to provide safe access to clean water for drinking, cooking, and sanitation. Many children, especially girls, spend their days walking miles to collect contaminated, disease filled water instead of attending school. Many communities have successfully implemented the WASH program for Water Sanitation and Hygiene for effective sanitation and hygiene practices.

Safe Housing

Homelessness is a global problem. It affects people of all ages in both developed and developing nations. Globally about 1.6 billion people live in inadequate housing. Safe housing provides a much-needed refuge for a family.

Most families live in a make-shift house made from scraps of wood, plastic, metal and other discarded items they can find to construct their home. This makes the family vulnerable to strangers, the weather, insects and vermin. Owning a home gives a family a sense of pride and dignity and hope for the future.

Providing Nutritious Food

World Health Organization estimates that around 2.3 billion people in the world (29.3%) were moderately or severely food insecure in 2021 – 350 million more compared to before the outbreak of the COVID 19 pandemic. Nearly 924 million people (11.7% of the global population) faced food insecurity at severe levels, an increase of 207 million in two years. An estimated 45 million children under the age of five were suffering from wasting, the deadliest form of malnutrition, which increases children’s risk of death by up to 12 times. 149 million children under the age of five had stunted growth and development due to a chronic lack of essential nutrients in their diets. Good nutrition is the foundation of child survival and development. Well-nourished children are better able to grow, learn, play and participate in their communities. They are also more resilient in the face of crisis.

Please assist us to meet the needs of the chronically malnourished. The food security and nutritional status of those most vulnerable is likely to deteriorate further due to the health and socio-economic impacts of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As families face economic crises and are subject to greater vulnerabilities, your gift will assist to stave off widespread hunger and restore hope.

Healthcare and Medical

Malaria, pneumonia, diarrhea, HIV and tuberculosis are preventable and treatable. But they are killing children in large numbers. Children under 5 are especially vulnerable to infectious diseases. Children need high-quality health care and services, especially in life’s early moments. The time between pregnancy and age 3, is critical for brain development and for a child’s growth and development. Globally, a child under the age of 15 dies every five seconds, mostly of preventable causes that poverty exacerbates. Millions of children don’t receive the nurturing care they need to survive and thrive.

Those living in poverty do not have access to receive essential basic health care. Medical care is unavailable, or the cost is out of reach for the those living on pennies a day putting their lives at risk. We are dedicated to bringing medical care, maternal healthcare and to provide lifesaving surgeries by means of our partnerships with local hospitals and doctors. e COVID-19 outbreak was declared a public health emergency by the WHO in January and characterized as a global pandemic in March. The United Nations launched a comprehensive response to the unprecedented public health, humanitarian and development emergency.

Microenterprise

In order to break the cycle of poverty, securing a decent and productive job that provides a fair income, sustainable enterprise and economic transformation is paramount. Employment is a pathway for many to escape poverty and should provide equal opportunity and treatment for women and men.

Microenterprise projects consist of many different types of small business opportunities that provides a family, especially single mothers a source of income. Whether providing micro-financing for a community bakery, seeds and plants for sustainable agriculture, animals for husbandry projects or a sewing machine, your gift empowers families earning less than a dollar-a-day and gives them a glimmer of hope for a brighter future.

Education

Education is the key to a better life, a pathway out of poverty. Working with our global partners, we are building schools and also helping improve the quality of the educational systems. Children are not being taught basic reading and math and our goal is to ensure children receive age-appropriate learning. The methods and resources utilized will improve education in developing countries, while also enhancing the educational experience for both teachers and students.

Statistics show that malnourished children do not learn as well as children who eat regularly. During the school day, food will be provided to the students which will alleviate their hunger while also encouraging regular school attendance.
