Construction of 10 Houses in Yasica, Puerto Plata
The objective of this project is to provide decent housing to 10 poor families in the municipal district of Yasica, San Felipe Municipality, Puerto Plata Province, in the Dominican Republic. These new homes will make a positive change in the lives of these families. Bringing much needed joy and peace, for their futures.
The rural area where this project will be completed, has very poor families. The population is approximately 7,200. According to statistical data from the head municipality of San Felipe, 3.5% of the houses are roofed with yagua, cana, and 14% of the houses with palm, yagua, tejamanil and tin walls, and 6.6% with dirt floors. A large number of these homes have latrines in very poor condition, or they do not have an adequate place for their physiological needs.
