The José Trinidad Cabañas Elementary School does not meet suitable conditions for the 188 students to receive classes in a dignified manner. The students receive classes inside of the only poorly made classroom built by parents and teachers in 2019. This improvised classroom is made of concrete block walls and wood with a concrete floor and the student desks are made of recycled wood brought from their homes The classroom has no electricity, so the door must remain open to let in light. The school does not have any bathrooms or latrines, so both teachers and students must relieve themselves outdoors. Your generous donation will provide a safe, comfortable new school with sanitation for these students who are eager to learn in an environment where education can be the total focus.
