PROJECT: 0001RW

Franciscan Sisters’ Special Educational Institute

The Franciscan Sisters are called to serve the physically and spiritually blind.

In Rwanda, they serve a student population of 196 from all over the country, as well as Tanzania. These are the most vulnerable students who encounter social difficulties because of their albinism.

During the school year, the children receive a well-rounded education and basic medical care in a nurturing environment.

You can help ensure these students secure an independent future by providing basic tools such as Braille paper, which is used for writing as well as printing textbooks at the Institute, since there are no Braille presses in all of Rwanda.
