Mother of Mercy Children’s Welfare Home

The Felician Sisters, a religious congregation that adopted Saint Felix of Cantalice as their Patron Saint, was established in Kenya in 1987 by two Felician Sisters. Also known as the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Felix of Cantalice, the Charism of the Felician Sisters is to imitate Blessed Mary Angela’s love for God, and to serve others with compassion and concern for their salvation. Today, the Felician Sisters in Kenya are in the process of becoming a Province. Conditions are harsh in this semi-desert corner of the world, Lengruma community, which is inhabited by the Samburu and Turkana pastoralist nomadic communities. Set off the beaten track, in the upper eastern region of Kenya, about 64km from Isiolo town, Lengruma is miserably hot, its earth is parched, and the town is only accessible by trucks and 4-wheel drive vehicles.
